Assistant Buyer Position

 Cayla Gray is growing and we’re hiring a part time Assistant Buyer!

You’ll get to dabble in all things entrepreneurship and merchandising. You will get to ideate, strategize and implement merchandising strategies that help our brand grow.

Right now this is a part time role working about 10 hours a week and the applicant must be local to Arizona. We have big goals and when we get there, this role will have the ability to become a larger part of the company. By being a part of our team, you get behind the scenes access to a start up beauty brand’s operations and will help build and expand the heart of this company.

About Our Founder

Kelly Kussman is the founder of Cayla Gray Co. Kelly started her career as a buyer for fragrances and fell in love with the way fragrance makes memories tangible and tells a story. After 20 years of leading large teams in corporate retail, she knew it was time to use this experience to start her own company and launched Cayla Gray in 2020. Kelly is a mentor and coach to many other entrepreneurs and corporate employees. This role will be working side by side with Kelly to strategize and grow the merchandising side of Cayla Gray.

Position Overview

You must LOVE fast paced, ever changing environments and be flexible to roll with the punches. We are scaling quickly, which requires everyone on the team to be resourceful and innovative. If you’re proactive and have the mindset that no task is beneath you and no task is too big for you, you’ll fit right in!

This role is a hybrid role working remotely and collaborating in person with our founder, vendors and our customers. You must have reliable transportation and be able to commute within Arizona.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Sales channel & product margin analytics
  • New product research
  • Customer feedback research
  • Pitching sales channels
  • Retail store operations & scheduling
  • New vendor & product selection for retail
  • Research new wholesale accounts (boutiques, box subscriptions, spa, hotel, retailers)
  • Create and maintain relationships with existing accounts
  • Wholesale management and drop-offs in Arizona
  • Analyze & present current and future market trends along with competitive analysis
  • Attendance of trade shows and popup markets (if needed)
  • Launch & project management (in asana)
  • Email marketing creation and tracking
  • Light social engagement & audits
  • Support founder with other tasks/projects that may arise

Requirements
  • Must have own car (will pay for mileage and gas for work-related expenses)
  • Previous retail or sales experience preferred
  • Be a proactive problem solver and provide solutions
  • Be resourceful, creative, willing to learn new things
  • Must have great written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a laptop
  • Preferred experience in Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Trello, Video editing, Canva,
  • Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, Shopify , Klayvio and social media planning platforms (TikTok/Instagram). Asana knowledge preferred but not required. 
      Wages, Hours & Perks
      • Part time – approx. 10 hours a week plus travel if needed to trade shows
      • Opportunity to grow into a larger position will be assessed as the business grows
      • Hybrid position 50% remote/50% in person at store, events or for meetings
